Dubai Metro ‘women only’ carriages to be extended

Dubai’s metro is making more room for women during the rush hour.

From 7am-9am and from 5pm to 8pm the section reserved for women and children will be extended into half of the adjoining silver-class carriage.

When brakes fail … try this

In a recent event in Sharjah, Sharjah police saved the life of a Emirati driver whose car brakes failed while driving on a motor way at a speed of 140 km/hr by guiding him to follow the following simple steps the driver came unscratched:

  1. Flash car hazard lights
  2. Fasten seat belt and put the car into neutral (N) position
  3. Hold the wheel tight
  4. Turn the engine off and on at the same time and the car brakes started functioning normal.

My advice … stay calm and dial the helpline first and if that does not work try the above .. Safe driving
